上海煌杰画廊始创于1997年，其原名“皇极画廊”。煌杰之名源自北宋大思想家邵雍所著的《皇极经书》一书，皇，意为“至大”，极取不可超越之意。画廊旨在对高品位文化理念的追求。
煌杰画廊坐落于文化气息浓郁的上海市静安区愚园路上，经营面积约70平方米，画廊主要经营近现代海派书画家及当代上海名家的书画作品，如弘一、吴昌硕、王震、赵子云、吴琴木、林风眠、朱屺瞻、郑午昌、刘海粟、陆俨少、华三川、郑慕康、应野平、唐云、谢稚柳、朱梅邨、俞子才等书画家之作；亦经营海上画家如：陈佩秋、程十发、刘旦宅、吴青霞、颜梅华、周慧珺、韩敏、韩硕、陆一飞、方增先等人的书画作品。近年，画廊通过不断发展与探索，拓宽了经营理念与思路，亦开辟了一方油画天地。在面积达140平方米的空间内，展示了现代中外知名油画家的作品，如石虎、张正刚、尹呈忠、高而颐、姜天雨、周胤辰之作。既有传统精髓的展示，又不乏对现代艺术的追求。
画廊分别于1998年、2001年、2002年、2003年、2004年、2005年、2006年、2007年、2008年参加上海艺术博览会，并于2003年参加上海艺术博览会画廊邀请展，2004年文化部举办的第五届中国艺术产业论坛和中国画廊推介展暨国际画廊邀请展。2005年、2006年参加上海春季艺术沙龙。2006年9月参加由中国文化部主办的中国国际艺术品投资与收藏博览会。2007年11月参加杭州西湖艺术博览会。2005年、2006年、2007年连续三年参加文化部主办的中国诚信画廊精品巡回展。画廊还于2008年举办“姜天雨油画作品展”、“开放的视觉——中国美院七七级七人作品展”。并于同年5月，参加香港第三届亚洲国际艺术古董展。
艺术作品根植于社会，有一定的群众基础，具有雅俗共赏的内涵。经营者是画廊的灵魂，意在把艺术作品推向社会，提高人民的精神生活品质；此乃画廊经营者的主导思想之所在。
Shanghai Huangjie Gallery, originally called Huangji Gallery, was founded in 1997. The name of Huangjie originates from the word Huangji Confucian by the great thinker Shao Yong in the Northen Song Dynasty Huang means great , while Ji is believed to be insurmountable The gallery aims at pursuing the culture idea with wonderful taste .
Huangjie Gallery, with a area of about 70 square meters, is located on the civilized Yuyuan Road in Jing an District of Shanghai. It mainly manages the works of painting and calligraphy by the well-known artists of modern times as well as contemporary era in Shanghai, such as Hong Yi, Wu changshuo, Wang zhen, Zhao ziyun, Wu qinmu, Lin fengmian, Zhu qizhan, Zheng wuchang, Liu haisu, Lu yanshao, Hua sanchuan, Zheng mukang, Ying yeping, Tang yun, Xie zhiliu, Zhu meichun, Yu zicai etc; it also deals in the works of artists in Shanghai, including Chen peiqiu, Cheng shifa, Liu danzhai, Wu qingxia, Zhou huijun, Han Min, Han Shuo, Lu Yifei, Fang zengxian, and so on. With the development and probe, the gallery has opened up the management ideas and thinkings and set up a new space of oil paintings during these years. In a area of about 140 square meters, it exhibits a few works by the artists of modern times, noted at home and abroad, such as Shi hu, Zhang zhenggang, Yin chengzhong, Gao eryi, Jiang tianyu, Zhou Yinchen. The works not only exhibit the traditional essences in art, but reflect the pursuit of modern art.
In the year of 1998, 2001，2002，2003, 2004，2005，2006 , 2007and 2008, the Gallery participated in Shanghai Art Fair, and in 2003, it had its name heard in the Gallery Invitation Exhibition of Shanghai Art Fair. In the year of 2005, 2006 the Gallery also participated in Art Shanghai. On the September 2006, the Gallery attended China International Artistic Works Investment and Collection Exposition hosted by Ministry of Cluture , the People’s Repblic of China. On the November 2007, it attended the 10th West Lake Art Fair. From 2005 to 2007,it continuously attended the exhibition ,called An Art Exhibition Tour of Delicate work of Chinese Honest and Credit Picture Gallery
